Extreme Blog Makeover

The Laughing Stork has been good to me, so I thought I would surprise it with a design makeover.  SURPRISE, blog!  I hope it doesn’t become hurt or offended, like Bethenny’s assistant did recently on Bethenny Ever After when they sprung a Rachael Ray makeover on her and she’s all, Wow, you must think I’m really ugly, huh? Awkward.  Really, I just wanted to punch it up — only I don’t have Rachael Ray’s budget, so no Jimmy Choos for you, blog!  But we do have an “Editor’s Pick” section at the top highlighting some of my fave posts now, as well as a fun new logo and goodies such as hotlinks to “More Crazy Stuff Around the Web” at the bottom of the sidebar and a “Family Sitcom Clip” archive where I will be posting — you guessed it — hilarious clips from my favorite family sitcoms.  You will also see that you can subscribe to the RSS feed to the entire site, or just to my column, or just pop culture updates, depending on your interests.

In addition to posting silly stuff I find around the Web, I am thrilled to announce I will be producing more Laughing Stork original content.  I’ve been approached by a partner to start producing a podcast, plan to relaunch my video blog series with a new twist and have also been teaching myself animation — lord help us all.  And, of course, I will continue to write about celebrity nonsense, crazy family-related stuff in the news and our even crazier life here at Chez Candy/Mr. Candy/Skye/Baby Freedom/Marcy/Lucy.  Also known as:  The new Los Angeles Zoo.

My grand master plan is to build the premier family humor destination on the Web.  For now…?  We have this site.  With a new design.  (Baby steps, people…)

I know change can be a tough pill to swallow, so I’ll tell you what I plan to tell Skye when she is grappling with her brother’s arrival in June: “Here, have a cookie.  It’ll make you feel better!”
