Candy’s TGIF Spring Fling Martini

Candy’s TGIF Spring Fling Martini

I am sooooo ready for real spring weather — not the nice day here, nice day there, rudely interrupted by intermittent chilliness and rain — so I thought I would encourage Mother Nature to commit to spring already with a celebratory Spring Fling martini.

I’m no meteorologist, but isn’t that how weather works?

Thought so.  Join me in expediting the seasonal change, will you?

Lovely calla lillies courtesy of Mr. Candy from last week's date night. (Awwww.) He SO got a piece.

  • 1 oz. Midori melon liqueur
  • 1 oz. Strawberry-flavored liqueur
  • 3/4 oz. Orange juice
  • 3/4 oz. Pineapple juice
  • Optional:  1 oz. Malibu Rum if you really want to kick Mother Nature’s ass into gear (all in the name of meteorology)

Fill a martini shaker with ice and add ingredients.  Shake well and strain into a martini glass.  Garnish with a pineapple slice or weather vane, if desired.

I thought a “Spring Fling” drink deserved a bikini top — a bikini top I bought before getting pregnant and, barring a miracle wherein I switch bodies with Jessica Biel, will likely never wear.  Thank goodness I was able to get some proper use out of it.

This drink is SO good, SO light and refreshing, SO dangerously smooth.  In other words, YUM.  I’m trying to ignore it calling my name from the refrigerator right now:  “Caaaaaannnnndddddddyyyyyy!  Come drink me… plus three more…. and I promise you’ll start thinking you CAN pull off that bikini top!”

*Sigh*  If only I didn’t succumb to societal pressures discouraging mothers from drinking during the day.
