Mark McGrath Is Engaged, Expecting Twins, Stuck in the ’80s

Mark McGrath, who I once saw flirting with the receptionist at my tanning salon (back in the day when I regularly got a spray-on tan), is expecting twins — a boy and a girl via IVF — with his “longtime love” and fiancée Carin Kingsland in May.

“I’m so excited,” says Mark, 41, who will host Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics! next fall and perform with Sugar Ray this summer.  “My DNA paranoia is kicking in: I’ve got to feed these children. We’ve got to get the nursery together. And what do you do when you bring the kids home?”

“Most parents are like, ‘Oh, the wonders of child rearing,'” he says with an exaggerated sigh. “But we’re freaking out!  The first year is going to be gnarly.”

No, most first-time parents freak the hell out.  But, yeah, it will be, like, totally “gnarly.”  Fer shur.  And those diapers…?  Will be, like, grody to the max!

A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
