Calling All Future Carrie Bradshaws: Get Your Baby High Heels!

Heelarious

Don't hate me 'cause I'm so glamorous

In a fashion development sure to give podiatrists a future boost in business, a line of high-heeled booties for babies has been launched for the six-month-and-under set.

You know, just in case you were looking for something to accentuate your little one’s baby bustier.

The mini-stilettos are sold online with the tag line:  “Heelarious – her first high heels.”  Made from a soft material, the company’s Web site states they are not intended to be walked in, but rather to encourage harmless, laughter-inducing fun.

Despite criticism from parents and child psychologists who argue the shoes encourage children to grow up too quickly, the Munchkin Pseudo-Manolos — which cost about $35 (+ thousands of dollars in future therapy bills) — are selling like hotcakes.

Infant fishnets not included.

With thanks to alert TLS reader, Mama Katrina.

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
