Hilary Duff, Mike Comrie Expecting First Child, Setting Me Up for Countless Hockey Puns

Hilary Duff’s hubby, hockey player Mike Comrie, sure is the master of gift-giving:  The $1 million engagement ring.  The $100,000 Mercedes-Benz SUV for Hilary’s 20th birthday.  And now…?  A baby for their anniversary.

He shoots, he scores…!

Yup, that’s right.  The former Lizzie McGuire, 23, and the former Pittsburgh Penguins forward, 30, who are celebrating their first wedding anniversary this weekend, are also expecting their first child.  Hilary announced the big news on her Web site, writing:

“Hello everyone! This weekend, Mike and I are celebrating our 1-year anniversary! In memory of the special day, we decided to post some of our favorite pictures from our wedding! I can’t believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you’re having fun! We also want to share the exciting news that BABY MAKES THREE!!! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives. Thanks to everyone for the continued love and support throughout the years!”

No word on who made the call to pull the goalie.
