Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Welcome a Baby Boy, Pee-Pee Teepees

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz have officially joined the Celebrity Baby Club (not a very exclusive one, considering it boasts Tori Spelling and Jodi Sweetin as members) by welcoming their first child — a boy — over the weekend.

Because U.S. tabloids were slackin’ on the job (TMZ must have been too busy with other important celebrity developments, such as harassing Brad Garrett again), we Americans are getting the news via Spanish newspaper El Pais, which reports that Baby Boy Cruz-Bardem was born at the very same hospital as Miss Skye, Cedars Sinai here in L.A., which obviously means that our kids are going to be BFFs.  Meanwhile, Hola reports that members of the couple’s family flew in from Spain for the birth: Penelope’s mother, brother and look-a-like sister (Mr. Candy was VERY intrigued when I mentioned they could pass for twins), plus Javier’s mother.

Congrats to the happy family!  Might I suggest NOT showing No Country for Old Men to your son until he’s moved out of the house if you ever hope for him to sleep through the night?  Heck, I don’t think I’ve slept well since watching it in 2008.  Javier’s hairdo in that movie alone haunts me at night.
