Tragic News: Brittany Murphy Dies at 32

This just sent a shiver down my spine:  Brittany Murphy died this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived.  She was only 32.

After Brittany’s mom discovered her unconscious in the shower, Brittany’s husband Simon Monjack called 911.  When paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Brittany was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR en route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center — several miles away — and Brittany was unresponsive.  She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The tabloids will peck, peck, peck away and this story will continue to unfold, I’m sure.

R.I.P Brittany… Although most will remember you for your acting career, Mr. Candy and I have often jammed to “Faster Kill Pussycat” and marveled over your singing voice.  A shame you had to go way before your time.

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
