The Duggar Men Sure Have Some Strong Swimmers

Joshua Duggar, 21 and his wife, Anna, 20, are carrying on the Duggar family reproductive torch with the announcement they’re expecting their first child.

No word on whether they’re buying the newborn the apparently commemorative brown-and-white striped Duggar polo shirt/uniform.

The eldest of the 18 Duggar children and one of the many stars on TLC’s “18 Kids and Counting,” Josh gushed:

“I am very excited and am learning new ways every day that I can be there for my wife.  I thought that she would be the only one going through the emotions of pregnancy, but I’m right there with her.”

So he, too, feels like he’s going to hurl every time he catches a whiff of Hubba Bubba and has hairs sprouting from his nipples?  Awww, poor guy.

Joshua and Anna, who married in September 2008, are getting ready for the baby, due in October, by reading through pregnancy materials from Dr. Amy Sarver (the same ob-gyn who delivered the last three Duggar babies) and contemplating baby names.

Names beginning with the letter J, like Josh and all of his siblings?

“Discussions are underway,” Joshua says. “We are planning on a name theme, but we are not sure what it will be.”

Given the family grows like weeds, might I suggest starting with names such as Dandelion, Mallow, Spurge, Dro and Crabgrass?

Because sharing is caring, as I tell my kids. (Except my wine. Never my wine.)

A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
