Drama at the Grocery Store
Around this time last year, I shared with you my horrifying-slash-amusing realization that my daughter had inherited my road rage — a scenario I have recreated for you with the help of a brilliant improv comedy troupe (seriously, I wish I could take them to parties to reenact ALL of my stories for me), as part of Happy Family’s Stories from the Bright Side campaign. Check it out:
Trust me, you do NOT want to end up in the grocery store slammer. There are some terrifying criminals in there — including toddlers who EAT THEIR GOLDFISH CRACKERS BEFORE THEIR PARENTS HAVE PAID FOR THEM! Not that my kids and I have ever done anything like that. *Ahem*
Watching that video also makes me so happy that I recently chopped off a few inches of my hair. Boy, did it need it. And I will never, ever get used to hearing the sound of my own voice —
But, um, I digress.
If you’re the parent of youngsters, you’re probably already familiar with Happy Family, which not only makes funny videos celebrating the craziness that can surround kids and food, but also makes fruit-and-veggie-and-yogurt-filled pouches, as well these yogurt snacks that my kids devour:
Look at that! They totally don’t mind being pimped out for yummy food samples. In fact, they sometimes hold up signs that say “WILL WORK FOR YOGURT SNACKS.” True story.
Happy Family’s Stories from the Bright Side campaign is about more than treating us to a few giggles and raising awareness about their healthy snacks, it’s also offering you the opportunity to enter your OWN stories for a chance to win $20,000 toward your children’s education. I know we all have funny stories about feeding our kids, or eating with our kids in public (oy), or going food shopping with our kids, or all the above, so why not parlay those experiences into some cash-money for college? Stories are accepted in the form of videos, as well as written stories and images, depicting personal experiences in getting little ones to eat healthy foods. The campaign will run through August 31, 2013, with all submissions evaluated by a panel of judges from Happy Family to determine the winning entry. You can submit your tale on their Facebook page here.
And the next time you’re in the grocery store and hear HONK! HONK! These are some BAD drivers! — please pretend that you don’t see us. Greatly appreciated.
In case it wasn’t obvious: I am being compensated by Happy Family to talk about their snacks and campaign. However, my children’s love for their pouches preceded this sponsorship and the daily melodrama surrounding getting them to eat is all our own.
