Infographic: Where Toddlers Most Commonly Get Sick

Although Miss Skye woke up this morning saying her “tummy hurt,” I didn’t pay much attention because she was playing and eating normally.  Also, because when I probed further, she claimed she “hurt” her stomach by hitting it on the side of her bed.  It wasn’t until we stepped inside daycare and she got violently ill all over their floor…and me… and my brand new purse… that I thought, Huh, maybe her tummy DOES hurt.  And the side of bed was not likely the culprit.

Fast forward to the end of the day:  Skye has recovered.  Not sure I can say the same for my bag.  Hmpf.  If there’s one thing in this world I need to teach that girl, it’s heave AWAY from the purse.  My god, forget about the virus ravaging your poor little body for just one second, kid, and SAVE MOMMY’S NEW LEATHER TOTE!

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
