Jewel Welcomes a Baby Boy, New Era of Lullabies

Jewel, whose music totally got me through some angst-y times in the ’90s, has welcomed a baby boy.  Naturally, she made the announcement on — no, not on Twitter — her Web site, saying:

“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy Kase Townes Murray into the world!  We are over come with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be- better even!”

Interesting name.  If all else fails, it assures him a spot in the CSI franchise:  Detective Kase Townes Murray is on the case!

Jewel and hubby Ty Murray previously confided that they have been trying to conceive for two years and announced that they were expecting back in January.  The two were married in 2008 in the Bahamas. Kase was born in Texas — where the couple owns a working ranch — at 7 p.m. CT, weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces.

Sources say Kase already said his first words when he looked up at his pretty mama and requested, “More singing, less yodeling, please!”

Because sharing is caring, as I tell my kids. (Except my wine. Never my wine.)
