Candy’s TGIF Captain’s Punch

In celebration of my new recliner, I’ve chosen a Southern COMFORT-based drink this week.  (See what I did there?)  This one’s got a kick (especially if you’re liberal with the suggested quantities as I tend to be) — but, hey, us mamas deserve to get our party on this Mother’s Day weekend!

CAPTAIN’S PUNCH (Or, as we’ll call it, CAPTAIN MOM’S PUNCH)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 oz Captain Morgan® Original spiced rum
  • 1/2 oz Amaretto almond liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
  • 2 1/2 oz Orange juice

INSTRUCTIONS

Pour all ingredients into a small (8 oz) highball or regular ol’ glass filled with ice cubes.  Stir well, and serve.  Directly in your mouth.

Don’t you just love how I try to dress up the drink with flowers, as if I’m taking a picture for Alcoholic Gourmet magazine?

If this drink doesn’t suit your fancy, be sure to check out my other TGIF recipes.  Because Mom deserves to get what SHE wants, and there are plenty of chocolate-y and fruity options in there (that appeal not only to us chicks, but also to Mr. Candy).  In fact, I suggest putting the kids to bed and making one of each.  You know, just to make sure you get a drink that you enjoy.  And isn’t that what Mother’s Day is all about?  (No…?)

Happy Mama’s Day, y’all!
