The two biggest “O”s in daytime join forces

Rosie O’Donnell, whose most recent claim to fame is mooning Kathy Griffin on My Life on the D-List, is returning to daytime TV with a new chat show — and on Oprah Winfrey’s network, OWN.  As in Oprah Winfrey OWNs the world.

“Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years,” said Oprah in a statement. “She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does.”

No word on whether Rosie will be dropping trou on her new show.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her network,” added Rosie. “I’m excited to be back on daytime television.”  (Not to mention excited to be employed, considering she has four children and her girlfriend has SIX.)

The hour-long New York-based show is described “a fun, uplifting show with Ms. O’Donnell’s playful and energetic style.”

Guests will likely not include Elisabeth Hasselbeck or Donald Trump.

Candy Kirby is the founder of The Laughing Stork and a professional fun-maker who will never stop chasing her lifelong dream: to find the Pomeranian or porn star after whom her parents must have named her. A humor columnist for Disney, Nickelodeon, Scary Mommy, Reductress and Redbook, she also used to be a staff writer for the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful, where she penned many scripts featuring prolonged heated stares and countless “Who’s the Daddy?” story lines. Candy lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two young kids and three rescue Persian cats, the latter of whom are the real brains behind this operation (so send all complaints to them).
