Mother Banned from Breastfeeding Infant Because of “No Food or Drink” Policy

A mother was ordered to stop breastfeeding her baby next to a Nottingham swimming pool because of — get this — a rule banning “food and drink” in the area.

Hey, if my Johnny can’t have his Twizzlers, then your baby can’t have his milk!  Tit for tat.

City Council officials have stayed abreast of the situation, since redrafting the wording of the rules:

“We have clarified the policy at our leisure centers to make it absolutely clear that someone breastfeeding should not be treated the same as someone who is eating and drinking in the swimming pool areas.”

And absolutely clear, it is.  Only The Laughing Stork has a peek at the pool’s new signage:

Officials expect the new center to become the most popular area of the pool.
