Father of the Week: Mario Lopez “Could Be Better” at Helping with Diapers

"Do NOT get that dirty diaper near me."

Mario Lopez may enjoy putting on a gun show, but just because he lifts weights doesn’t mean he’s quick to lift a finger to help with changing diapers.

“I’ve [changed them] before, but to be honest, I could be better,” he tells People, taking a page from the Will Ferrell Book of Avoiding Diaper-Changing.

Hey, well, in Mario’s defense he’s only had EIGHT MONTHS to figure them out.  *AHEM*

Not surprisingly, with no poop under his fingernails, Mario is enjoying fatherhood:

“It’s changed me in all the most positive ways,” he says of being dad to 8-month-old Gia Francesca, whose latest milestones include standing up.

“Everything she does is cute to me,” Mario says of his daughter with girlfriend Courtney Mazza.

And how he is handling work-life balance…?

“I’m still doing everything that I’m doing — just working harder and doing it on less sleep,” he notes.

Not to mention avoiding diaper duty frees up some time!
